About Me
My name is Emily Cunningham and I am a NASA Hubble Fellow at Columbia University. I will be an LSSTC Catalyst Fellow at Columbia beginning Fall 2025.
Previously, I was a Flatiron Research Fellow, at the Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA) at the Flatiron Institute. At CCA, I am a member of the Dynamics Group and the Astronomical Data Group. I completed my Ph.D. in the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics at UC Santa Cruz, working with Alis Deason, Raja Guhathakurta and Connie Rockosi.
The focus of my research is the Milky Way stellar halo. I'm interested in using motions and chemical properties of stars to understand the Milky Way's formation and evolution.
